Yamunotri and Gangotri temples are dedicated to goddesses Yamuna and Ganga respectively. While Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord shiva & Badrinath is the abode of Lord vishnu.
Traditionally, the sacred Chardham yatra is done from the west to the east. Thus, the yatra starts from Yamunotri, then to Gangotri and finally to Kedarnath and Badrinath.
