Kedarnath Dham is the most sacred place for Hindu deities. Kedarnath temple is the most famous as well as the most holy Shiva temple.
The temple is one of the four major temple in India’s Chota Char Dham pilgrimage of Northern Himalayas. This is the highest situated temple among the 12 Jyotirlingas. Among all Hindus deity Kedarnath dham is famous as holiest shrine.
The temple is not directly accessible by road. Has to be reached by uphill trek from Gaurikund. Trek distance is 22 kilometres (14 mi) . Pony and manchan services are available to reach the temple. As well as Helicopter services are also available to reach the temple.
According to Hindu legends, initially temple was built by Pandavas. This is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest Hindu shrines of Shiva.
From Gaurikund to Kedarnath temple trek you will enjoy the panoramic view of himalayas. To reaching out Gaurikund, firstly you have to reach Rishikesh, Haridwar, Dehradun or Srinagar. From there you have to take buses or taxis for Gaurikund.
